So I am a total mobile phone geek who likes to try out a lot of phones. Most recently I have used the Pearl (decent phone, but hated no keyboard), Curve 8320 (great phone but a little slow for me), the G1 (biggest piece of sh** I have ever used), and most recently an unlocked Storm on T-Mobile (good concept but the OS is really laggy and is terrible to type on). So I put up my phone on Craigslist and found a person who traded me their BRAND NEW, SEALED 8900 for my used Storm, so I was like **** Yeah!!
All I can say is that this is probably the best phone I have ever used. It's fast, has a great screen, the keyboard is awesome, just everything about the phone is fantastic. I think I've finally found the phone that I'll be using for quite a while. JUST AWESOME!!
I have had many blackberrys myself and I absolutely love this thing. I've had it a few months and no issues or problems. Lots of memory and quite fast. I still have the registration sms from when I put my sim in it. That's a lot of txts. I send and receive approx 600 a day total!! Enjoy your BB.

3.2mp Camera with Auto Focus is way more than enough for me.
I took a picture of my finger tip and I swear i could see my prints in full detail. I had pearl 8100 before and thought it was pretty good, but now I am disgusted at how slow it was compared to this device.
Can't wait for leaked 5.0 OS, i like that option of being able to scroll between pics on it with track ball.
I have both 8900 and Bold. They are both unlocked and I'm on t-mobile.... It's been a while that I'm struggling between these 2 phones.
8900:
Pro:
UMA service <---- Awesome for overseas travel
Auto Focus camera <---- There are so many things that you can take no matter how close or how small that object is...
Small form factor
Cons:
Bezel too fragile <---- I scratched my 8900 just by placing it in my pocket with nothing else in it.
Tiny keys <---- it is hard to type sometimes, especially trying to dial a call when driving... (well, I don't have big thumbs, just average)
9000:
Pro:
Leather Back <---- No need to worry about scratching the phone
Metal Bezel <---- No worry about the chrome peeling off
Bigger keyboard <---- Much easy to type that 8900
Bigger screen <---- more comfortable when browsing and reading emails
Cons:
No UMA
No Auto Focus
Size (Barely acceptable)
depends on how small your hands are i guess
the bold fits me just right...i type on it one handed and cant imagine using a phone too much smaller
i came to the Bold from the 8310 curve and i prefer the Bolds size...the keyboard is pretty close to perfection on the Bold IMHO
all a matter of taste i guess
The 8900 is one amazing device. The features are great on it and I am glad that you are loving it as well. The phone has a lot to offer and it seems like you can never be bored with it .
I think the Bold is better than the 9000. Personal preference
LOL... I know I'm at least the 3rd, but this is just too funny.
I'm sure you meant better than the 8900... I don't think it is better, but if I was using it for work and I needed 3G... No, it's still no... I have Wifi and work and at home, and the 8900 is soooooo much faster than 3G.
My first bb was the 8310, loved it! Tried the Bold for a wile, great phone, but too big for me. Tried the 8900 and loved it!!! Perfect size for me, lot of memory (i have a ton of apps installed, and I don't have to worry about memory). And 3G wasn't a factor for me.
I really liked the Bold but the size & no WiFi/UMA made me opt for the 8900, The 8900 is amazing and is by far the best handset i have ever owned. I got my first phone in 1994 and have lost count of all the different handsets iv'e owned, but none of them can compare to the 8900.
Right on. Congrats on the new 8900. You def got the sweet end of that trade! Oh, also , if you put on an Invisible Shield then your worries about bezel paint peeling will magically melt away. There is truly an art behind a perfect install but if you take your time and give it a lil TLC it'll go on clean. Anyway, the phone rawks, enjoy!!

I really like my 8900 as well. However, sometimes I wonder if a Bold would offer a better browsing experience with 3G. The Crackberry tests found that the 8900 seems to actually be faster with WiFi though which helped sway me towards the 8900.
I'm a new 8900 owner too. T-Mobile has no 3G coverage in my area so the 8900 was a perfect fit. At home I'm loving the wifi connectivity as well as the UMA feature.
