    Hey all,
Just a quick post. I've been running .90 in the new leak for almost 3 days. Very fast, stable, AND INCREDIBLY COLORFUL.
This is the first build since .113 to work with the .90 radio code for me. Give it a try at your own risk. As you may or may not know, I am a HUGE proponent of the .90 radio code (because I HATE color banding), and had used it up until .122 came out. From .122 to .141, I got VSOD's, freezing, and to be honest, was complete sh1t!
Now that Don leaked .148 (thanks Don), .90 has been flawless. Keep in mind, it has only been 12 hrs, but I couldn't get 5 minutes in with anything between .122 and .141. Also keep in mind each device has a mind of its own. DO NOT FLAME ME IF IT DOESN'T WORK ON YOUR DEVICE!
It can never hurt to try........and also, the .90 radio code MAY NOT PLAY NICELY WITH THE 5.0 FILES.
And courtesy of lyricidal, it's a snap to swap out radio files.
I hope it works for you!
    Marcus

PS-Please post feedback......I'd like to know if this is a random occurence or these "resetting" issues were addressed (per Patches' change log).

Yep same here. This is an excellent release. Im on Tmobile using the .90 Radio and the Storm feels like a totally different device. No lockups or crashes yet.

If I'm running lyricidals 141/5.0 hybrid, Will installing the 148 leak remove the 5.0 files and allow the .90 radio to work?

There is definitely no rhyme or reason why 100 devices would have 100 different results with the same OS. I don't get it
My device was flawless with the .90 radio code until .122 came out. Never worked well again until .148........

Just got done loading .148 with .90 radio code... I'm on T-mobile... So hopefully this will be more solid than what I've experienced... I've been using .90 radio on the past few releases. .112, .132, .141, and it was solid EDGE but would seem to lock/reboot pretty often.... Hopefully this works well. It'd be nice if one of the releases wouldn't lose EDGE. Are they trying to punish us unlockers?

I'm deeply sorry if I sound ignorant here - or perhaps I mis-understood what you're saying but....

How does color banding effect the radio? I thought the color banding problem was a display issue where spectrum colors aren't all rendered on the screen. And the radio..well, Im sure this is a reference to the signal/reception.

Just curious how these two are possibly tied? Again, I could just be an ***** and incorrectly reading into the OP. *shrugs*

God, I hate being a newbie to stuff....

It is all part of the core OS file (.sfi), or "radio code."
Color banding reared its ugly head with OS .99 I believe and we have not had full color since.

So just by upgrading to .148, I'm getting the .90 radio code?

No, you have to swap it out yourself. Look up two posts

I'd like to learn a little more about the whole concept of radio codes, but my search isn't coming up with anything.

When I opened the Swap-A-Radio program, it lists radios up to .141. It seems to me that the newer the radio, the better it'd be?

If you want the full color back, and a great radio, the last one was .90. If you don't mind the color banding, stick with the new leak or OS .148.

I'm confused on what you mean by color banding. Are you talking about something on the screen messing up with calls?

    marcus..

have you not experienced any lag with apps or browsing?

from what I've read the reason the color banding first came up was that RIM discovered it was taking too much to render the graphics, which slowed the device down, so they compromised the graphics in order to have everything else be speedy....

If you're not experiencing any slow down anywhere, it makes me wonder if their whole graphics slowdown theory was incorrect....
