as we all know, the iPhone and the iPhone 3g, and i am sure the wwdc iphone will all run iphone os 3.0, and they all have different features usable to each phone by different hardware (ex. gps, 3g).
Do you think that the Storm and Storm 2's OS will be similar, if not the same? I don't mind the prospect of older hardware as long as the OS is the same
GRANTED: That the Storm 2 will (hopefully) run things a bit faster
They'll probably be slightly different OS's. Also just because the OS on the storm 2 looks the same as the storm 1 doesn't mean the final version will be the same. Its still in the testing stage so it could change

Basically 5.0 or maybe a 5.1 OS..... The question is will it have some kind of UI that will make it somewhat more competitive with the iphone of a cosmetic level.

When the device launches I wouldnt be surprised if they both had the same OS.. Hardware changes alike all new units running 4.6 or higher will be moved to 5.0 builds.
The Storm 2's physical buttons are now a part of touchscreen (no more visible physical buttons except screen itself) - Due to that, there may be some changes in the OS.

What makes you say that?
I guess I am not understanding the logic behind it...
As a reminder, OS 5.0 is being developed to have a single core among all hardware models. There are slight differences for each handset (such as radio's, ect..) but otherwise OS 5 is being made so that all models have the same look and feel.
