Anyone else have the issue of the DST patch not updating the 8100's?

I found for the users that didn't get the DST patch, it was easiest to just send them a PIN message from the BES Management console for them to click on BlackBerry and follow the prompts. It auto detects the BB version and instructs them how to install the patch OTA through their Blackberry's. I've had a number of friends that also used this method instead of using BES to push the patch out since it's more reliable.

That is how we depoyed to all BB users.

For some reason some pearls did not update even tho the patch says applied.

Tried several things....reboot..reload patch...change time to 1:59 am on 3/11.

Nothing has worked and is only affecting pearls.

We downloaded the patch from blackberry.com\dst2007.

We do have an escalated ticket open with RIM, but I was hoping someone had a fix for today.

    Thanks!

From what I'm seeing and hearing from different people from other companies, the pearls are having a big issue with it. Sorry I can't help you more on it, maybe someone else might have more insite.

What version of BES do you have? Can you get to 4.0.6 or 4.1.3? You should be able to run a script which will auto-sync the new DST table with all 4.2 devices. That is proper solution for the Pearl and the new 8800, not the patch that you did deploy.

Is everyone using the link BlackBerry directly from your bb?

I tried the DSTpatch web link directly from a 7130e, and it ended up going into an endless hourglass loop. Don't know what happened or, if i had any choices along the way, but i don't think so. Verizon is sending me a replacement.

I used the link as far and have sent it out to multiple people to use with no problems other then the people that can't wait the 15-20 minutes for it to reboot after it patches.

    Hi All,
Just want to let you know that we found a fix for the BB Pearl issue and DST.

Remove the user from the BES and make sure they delete from pending.

    Security wipe device.

    Add back to server.

    Run Enterprise activation.

    Reload DST patch from blackberry.com/dst2007

This did work on other devices that had this issue. (8700 and 8703)

    Good Luck!

...but that is a lot of work, no? I had to call T-Mobile today. One of the Pearl's kept going 'back-in-time'! Apparently, in the data & time section, is should be set to 'Network', seems to work better. So far, so good...

Am sure on Monday, if it's changed again, the CEO will tell me!

Just wanted to mention that the link to the download was written incorrectly - it is blackberry.com/dst2007 NOT blackberry/dst2007.com.

Yes on my Pearl from cingular. It was a waste of time. Nothing but junk!
Everytime I do something to my phone or install software with the USB the time just reverts back to what it used to be! So, I have to Manually change it.

    i'm not happy about that.

We pushed out all of our dst patch thru the BES 200+.
The only problem we seemed to have were people running the 4.0.x os on 7250's on vzw.
The easiest fix I found was to upgrade there bb os to 4.1.x

    Thanks for the info Kendra:

    Hi All,
OK got some very interesting information from an engineer at RIM today.

Seems that the DST issue with the BB Pearls relates to the Database in the Pearl itself and the dst patch does not update this databse.

This repair is to be run on the BES and not the handhelds.

RIM now has a fix for this.

Here are the release notes from RIM and the fix itself.

    Good Luck to all.

    Thanks,
    Kendra
