So i've been searching around about early upgrade tips on avoiding paying full prices on a new phone, and I see that AT&T has this offer on if you have 6 months remaining on your contract, you can get the 2-year contract price plus $75.

I'm part of a family plan, and there's 4 devices, our monthly bill is a little more than $200. My upgrade date right now is 5/28/2010. If i'm correct, then I am eligible for this $75 offer in December, right?

    Thanks in advance.

our policy is you qualify for the 75$ upgrade price if you have completed more then 6 months on your CURRENT contract.

This is a manager discretion kind of thing, but if you came into our store, we could definitely get you the early upgrade (2year price plus $75). It has to be at least six months since your last upgrade to qualify. Good luck to ya!

This $75, is it being charged by inderect stores? Every time I process an XCPT upgrade, its only $18 upgrade fee. I work for an inderect dealer, we do not charge this $75 fee. Thats crazy.

The $75 early upgrade pricing is a COR store only, its basically signing a 2 year contract and paying 1 year pricing. This DOES NOT apply to the iPhone ($200 increase in price) because the iPhone would be $299 for 8GB, $399 for 16GB, and $400 for the 32GB. Hope this helps.

my dads has an iphone that is on its way out.. so i called att and i get to a supervisor and he tells me go to a corporate store ask for a manger and tell him what you told me and he will give you the 75$ exception upgrade. i frequent this site and it just occurred to me how many att emps post on here.. so i thought i might as here before i go in tomorrow.. what do you think i should do now?

it seems like i can get my mom the early upgrade without the exception..thats a small relief...

The $75 exception upgrade can be done at the store & so can CSR reps, I used to do it all the time. Now the exception upgrade can be done on every device but the Iphone. When it comes to the Iphone there is no "if" "ands" or "buts" about it you have to do the 2yrs for a standard Iphone upgrade or pay more for the early upgrade. samhage btw watch out for the stores that will try to get you to add another line to get the device for a discounted price its not worth it, trust me
