For install instruction to load any carrier 8800 OS on your BB:

1. Download desired OS to your PC
2. Install/run OS to PC
3. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
5. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade

Ive done the install, not sure if there was a change log, but I noticed a whole extra day of battery use.

i have an 8820 from at&t, and i want to do this upgrade but when i click the link i don't see 4.5.0.140.

All i see is:
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.75 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.75
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.52
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.66

and

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.195 (Multilanguage)

am i missing something here?

btw, you guys who are downloading it, does it finish? mine seems to just stop mid way and just pause. I've tried redownloading it again but it does the same thing over and over. Is there a megashare upload link or anything?

Have .110 running today.

How comes, when I wanted to update my BB (first provider Orange now Vodafone) to OS v4.5 my BB nuked. It has driven me crazy since no professional could help me ( and they did try to for at least 4 weeks). But thanks to crackberry I'm now able to restart the BB, allthough it runs only on OS 4.2. I wiped the handheld and retried to uptdate it: same problem, the BB nukes. You could say what's the problem when it runs. But with OS 4.2 there are no email settings and I cannot change the handheld from BES to BIS. Has anybody an idea what's wrong with OS 4.5 or with the handheld?

When I go to download I need to fill in the "country" and "state" the drop down bars won't scroll through the choices, so it download. This is all being done on my phone. Please help.
