- Pete6Retired ModeratorI was just reading a thread over in Stormland where radioguinea was saying the he believes that new development work on OS 4.7 (Storm) has or will soon cease in favor of bringing OS 5 to release.
I guess that this means that we will still see bug fix releases but few or no new enhancements for OS 4.7.
What this means for our OS of 4.6.1.xxx I have no idea. What I think is that having looked inside the Java folder of OS 5, RIM may well decide to commit to 5 all over due to the new cod namings that seems to prevail in OS 5.
However we may still see a few more leaks of OS 4.6.1 until they ramp up beta schedules for OS 5 after WES where OS 5 will be announced (announced, not released).
You understand that I am writing what I think and that RIM have not phoned me up to tell me - lol.04-29-09 09:34 AMLike 0 - I was just reading a thread over in Stormland where radioguinea was saying the he believes that new development work on OS 4.7 (Storm) has or will soon cease in favor of bringing OS 5 to release.

" it doesnt really give us a chance to really check out the os for all the features or bugs and what not04-29-09 11:51 AMLike 0
- Pete6Retired ModeratorI've said this before but when you see rapid OS release for the same phone you may be certain that there is trouble.
Long periods of quite indicate to me that the OS is stable and does not need changing.
Of course it may also mean that they are in sooo much trouble that they cannot get a working version out the door -- hehe.04-29-09 01:30 PMLike 0 - i think im going to stick with OS 4.6.1.206 for awhile because it is an official version and not beta, but also, the bug fixes for OS 5 wont be fixed for awhile...04-29-09 01:49 PMLike 0

I did like what i saw out of 5.0, i used it for a day or 2 but too many bugs. The sound leak is fixed in that OS version so im glad that's been addressed. Now if only a stable version of 5.0 came out of the underground....04-29-09 03:35 PMLike 0 - GarzRetired ModMy biggest problem is the sound leaking out of the speaker when you skip tracks. I know its a very minor problem for some, but for me it's just flat out annoying. I guess battery life could improve too, but i'm generally happy with that.
