The storm I bought was purchased with a stolen card. Problem is when the detective came to ask me questions I didn't have the phone because I got a warranty replacement because of the screen click. Now I'm tangled in an even bigger mess

Well he said he needs to ask the guy that sold it to me some questions and ask my coworkers some questions and see surveillance footage from my workplace to make sure its the right guy. Problem is that it happened here at work and I don't want this to effect my career and I don't want to go to jail or be out 200 bucks

With any luck, it was purchased directly from a carrier under an account, as those require SSNs to sign up. Verizon has records of purchases. I'm on wapforums so I can't see what your carrier is, but I would guess that this person bought a lot more than a phone with the card, so hopefully those other items will clear you.
That said, I would imagine they will take the Storm. :\

Yeah. I don't think they would be wasting so much money investigating into this if it was just the storm he bought with that card. Your phone is prob the least of their concerns.

While the detective is at it maybe he can question Verizon and pin down a release date on the updates OS..........

At least you got the screen click taken care of - that can be very irritating.
he bought it from some1 that used a stolen CC to buy the storm in the first place...
also, i would like to know how the police tracked you down?!
Easy. Someone reports the credit card stolen and the CC company & police notice an obscene amount of spending. The police are advised by the CC company of the transaction information. The police contact the vendors and ask for the information regarding the exact transactions (Date, Register, Time) and any related surveillance photos/videos.
That's why the detective wanted to see the OP - See if they match the person who purchased the phone(s).
Anyway, obviously the OP registered the phone with a carrier, all the police had to do was get the proper documentation and get the information.
Can OP go to jail for this? I would assume that he did nothing wrong. He just happened to have bought a phone from a crook. Too bad for him but I don't think he should be in any type of trouble.

If the story is true, and I'm not saying it isn't, no the OP can not go to jail unless he is obstructing the investigation. The best thing to do is just be honest & cooperate.
