Okay so I'm not sure if i'm late on it, but I just read the news of the official FB 1.5 and I have the leaked version on my device. How do I do a complete wipe of the leaked version on my device? Would that consist of deleting it on DM? In the post on the main page it says that you can't simply delete it and do a battery pull and I just wasn't sure which other way there is besides a DM uninstall from my device.

    Thanks for any imput!

If you previously were running a leaked copy of Facebook 1.5 on your device it sounds like you may need to do a handheld wipe to rid your BlackBerry of the leaked version's database.

Yea but if I make a backup file won't the leaked version of FB be backed up with it and then reload once I load the backup?

Pretty much this - if you installed it before yesterday (Tuesday 21st April) evening you have the leaked version.

I must have missed this point.... but why can you not just install over the leaked version??

Because the new version has different database properties. The installer won't recognize the older databases and over write them. If you were going from FB 1.2 to 1.5 the databases get overridden.

So is there any solution for this? How do I back my device up and then restore it without getting the leaked version back on?

You shouldn't have to wipe your device.... the leaked version is a different version..... If it has the same numbers 1.5.0.31 then it is the same

I installed 1.5 a month or so ago and just installed the new one from facebook.... and it asked to overwrite a bunch of files...

You should be good if you just install.

Installing the new over the old essentially doubles up on the databases for some reason - taking up excess unneeded space and on some devices risking possible errors. If you had a leaked version installed, you can always do an advanced backup just for contacts, messages etc and then wipe and start fresh.

When I just rebooted my FF memory is in line with where it should be right around 117mb. I don't believe i have any double information ...

    How could I check?

Clint I'm not sure if it's the free memory they are talking about on the device but the amount of space taken up on the database? I'm not too sure though :/

Has anyone found a reason to install the official instead of just sticking with the leaked version? I'm itching to install the newest latest as always, but this one is seeming like it can get complicated for no change at all. Opinions?
