    Hi There,

When I view You Tube videos on my Curve, the video is only about half the size of my screen. Is there any way to get the videos to take up the full screen?

    thanks
    David

There is no way to make the youtube videos full screen.

It's a limitation on the youtube mobile side, not the blackberry.

Wrong, I'm a web designer, and it has nothing to do with it whatsoever. Its the way the Blackberry renders it. Someone can make a modification to the OS, though, if they had the technical knowledge. I mean, if you can see the youtube video on your computer as is, it isn't youtube, its the device your using.

We aren't accessing the regular youtube site though, since blackberry doesn't support flash.

isn't it streamed differently using flash on the regular site and accessing vis the mobile youtube site?

Some of the videos I have from YouTube on my phone are almost full screen, but most of them are only half screen. It gets really annoying sometimes.

Add me to the list as well, it is possible due to other smart phones able to show it full screen, like the previous posts I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with the scripting by blackberry

Maybe a third party video app would do it?

BlackBerry like, compresses them to be smaller for some reason. One of the shortcomings.

The blackberry doesnt compress the video. Its youtubes end, they are sending a low quality video. Yes RIM could update the media player to stretch the video full screen, but then it would look worse. Ultimately youtube needs to improve the quality of their stream for BBs.

No I really don't believe its youtubes end due to the fact that youtube has perfect fullscreen quality on other smartphones

Youtube plays full screen on the tour with no problem, so its not youtube, it's the curve. What I want to know is why? Why can't they fix it on the curve? When did the curve become the ******* stepchild of rim?

I'm not sure, but 9630, 9000 and 9530's youtube videos all fit their respective screens.
