*UPDATE* Letter I sent to Verizons CEO with the horrible grammar
- Well well well....what do we have here. ya so after 8 pages of people bashing me and calling me a liar; i get a phone call this morning. No it wasn't from my local police department or even hooked on phonics. It was from a very lovely woman named Kari. Kari works for Verizon Wireless Executive Office of the President. She was overly polite and .... In the end she gave me a $25 credit to my account for the activation fee i paid(even thought i told her i really didn't care about it). Then she offered me a BRAND NEW, not refurbished; Blackberry Storm. The deal got even sweeter when she also offered me ANY other phone of my choice if i don't want a new Storm. Now it isn't the deal of the century but i'm certainly am not complaining. She had the authority to offer me deals normal tech support can not and i appreciate it. I still haven't decided what deal i'm going to take. I really think i might just go back down to the Gz'One Boulder i had before. It's not some magical phone but its practically bullet proof. A must for anyone working in the oil field. So how you like them apples?
Oh one last thing, to everyone who said the Verizon CEO wasn't going to take me serious, no SH%T!. I said that in my previous post. Never once did i expect the CEO of a multi-billion company to ACTUALLY reply to my email. **** i don't expect him to even know i wrote him. That wasn't my plan in the first place. I was simply writing an email to someone besides your typical tech support who cant pull any strings for you. Now everything i said in my email is 100% true. I wasn't telling stories to try and get free swag. I may have wrote a hasty email without proof reading or spell checking, but i'm not an *****. I simply made the mistake of writing in anger and clicking send too quick. In the end it didn't matter. I got my voice heard, my problems are being dealt with and i'm being treated like a valued customer. I'm not 19, i'm 25. Just because i just got my own cell account a year ago doesn't mean i'm some young kid. My parents always took care of my cell phone bill and i never complained. It wasn't til i wanted a blackberry that i decided to get my own account. Last but not least i know how to count. $112,710 is a six figure salary. Thats what I made last year. And i know this cause thats what i filed on my taxes for 2008.Last edited by Reed McLay; 04-10-09 at 02:43 PM. Reason: content moderation
04-10-09 11:07 AMLike 0 - I had a smiliar outcome by doing this.
I Recieved a BlackBerry Curve 8330 for Free while the bugs on the storm were being resolved.
So, I got to keep my storm and get a free 8330.
People think it's a joke, it's not

Sure a certain percentage come here for advise. Some come here to post new rumors. I'm sure you have read plenty of threads, at some point it stops being about the original issue and turns into a winery.04-10-09 11:26 AMLike 0

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com04-10-09 11:40 AMLike 0 - just showing what a letter can do. I did this with my xbox 360 after getting the ring of death and fixing it since it was out of warranty, and then xbox released an extended warranty for that problem. well long story short, opened boxes cant get warranty without a big letter to someone up high.
So I have no problem sending a letter explaining the issues I'm having with a product if they are a legitimate issue that is happening with lots of people.04-10-09 12:33 PMLike 0 - Luckily haven't had major problems with the storm. I don't get all the hate. People post here million times a day about how much they hate the storm, and don't do anything about it, and the others keep complaining about getting refurbs, and how they want a new one instead, and everyone else agrees.04-10-09 01:03 PMLike 0

- i will give you my example. my storm kept dropping calls in areas where my other vzn phone had a good signal.
they replaced it with a refurb. the screen was not even...had big gaps on 2 sides...no gaps on the other two. i sent it back. i got another replacement...same thing with the gaps.
was wanting a new phone whining on my part? call it what you want, but i have a brand new storm now and the screen is perfect.
i know that vzn was recycling the original batch of storms as replacement phones. the newer build phone i have now does not have the same hardware problems.04-10-09 01:41 PMLike 0 - Well well well....what do we have here. ya so after 8 pages of people bashing me and calling me a liar; i get a phone call this morning. - and what's worse is that he makes 6-figures at 25yrs old, but his parents were taking care of his bill. he only got his own line when he wanted a blackberry.... if my kid was making 6-figs, I would kick his *** of my account or tell him to start paying for MY service.
*thumbs down*
edit: oh, and you probably got the call back and the offer because they felt sorry for you. The rep probably said "here's a guy who needs a device that can help him learn the language".04-10-09 02:01 PMLike 0 -
