I downloaded it from the blackberry website and installed it on my PC , now when I load up DM it never recognizes it. I even have .113 at the moment and it doesn't recognize that on my phone either, it says I have .75 . Now the weird thing is when I plug it into my DM at home, it says I have .113 , weird ? How can I install ghe official .122 onto my phone currently? Does it just not work for the VZ storm version?

Many thanks in advance for any tips you can give this newb !

I don't think you downloaded the official .122 from the blackberry website, since you are on Verizon and they have not released an "official" version.

Look around this forum, you will find the files.

You will also find the instructions on how to load these files.

Be warned, this is for "experts" and you could "brick" your phone.

    Good Luck!

Not trying to be rude, but I did it all...

I loaded up the installer, plugged in the PC to DM and it doesn't recognize it. Re-installed the loader , did a batter pull. I don't know what to do, DM just doesn't recognize the .122 version.

(im not sure cuz i havent done it so i mite be wrong) but:
    1) have u deleted the vender.xml file?
    2) u could try disconnecting the internet since dm tries to find the most recent official online (.75)
    3) if u tried step one and/or two, still no luck try using the link pk gave u above

@p08757: the official os is on hutchison

You used the link from this site, but the file you downloaded is for the 9500, the GSM version. DM nor App Loader will recognize this file for the 9530 phone.

If you want to load .122 on the 9530 phone, you have to extract the java files (there are threads here on how to do this) and place them in the 9530's .113 or whatever version. Simply downloading the .122 OS won't get it to load on your phone.

if you guys want, I've made a .122 installer

I've created a little installer for those that don't know how to do it.
    NEW, EASIER INSTALLERS:
    x86:http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/9530...P4.0.0.153.exe
    x64:http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/9530...0.153(x64).exe
You must have official .113 installed to upgrade.
.113 Official (FileFront) or .113 Official (MEGAUPLOAD) or .113 Official (SendSpace)
(Or at least have that main OS folder installed with whatever OS files in it) which is:
    [Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9530-v4.7.0.113_P4.0.0.144]
Don't forget to delete the Vendor.xml file, as this is the cause of many people's updates not showing up
    its in: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader"
