new user here. and I'm in need of an update on my storm. can I update directly from .75 to .113? or do I need to update to a middle of the road level first? also is .113 my safest most solid bet?

Yeah, you can directly download the new OS113 from .75. That's exactly what I did and it work much better and faster.

May I suggest using the search function-- both of your questions are rather recent topics and countless threads can be found on the first two or three pages regarding them.

However .113 can be downloaded from MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

The performance of operating systems vary depending on the device, the problems I encounter with .113, you may not and vice-versa. So if you feel comfortable enough manually upgrading your O.S. then do so. Just remember that at the end of the day, if you are not satisfied, you can always revert back to your current O.S.

As for the vendor.xml file, this will need to be deleted for .122 if you are not with Bell, but it does not need to be deleted with .113, although it is good practice to do so regardless.

Go to .113 for now. thats what i think... .122 is still new and if you havent upgraded before .113 will be a lot easier

Yes AND you have to go to .113 before .122, IF you have only .75 Reason being if you only have .75, then you do not have the shared folder to save these into.(for .122) You get those folders after installing another OS. So best to go to .113 first.

Just a quick addition to this: one does not need to have .113 physically installed on the device, just on your computer.

So for those coming from .75, simply download any O.S. (113, 114 etc) and install this onto your computer and then download the .122 CDMA and Java files, unzip them and then copy them into the applicable folder.

hey you seem like someone who knows what they are doing. i have a storm(9530) with OS109 installed.
i bought the phone w/ .75OS and when i first heard about verizon testing another OS update i went of blackberry.com/storm/updates and it gave me 109OS. i downloaded it thinking it was official.
now i cant download the .148OS updates because it says that i might be on the enterprise or business server.

i went to verizon store and argued my case but they didnt give a s---, what would you suggest i do? my idea was to download .75OS from internet and then try to get .148OS. i didnt find any .75OS on internet

    i would appreciate some help
