Received a BLACKBERRY DEVICE SOFTWARE UPDATE NOTIFICATION email.
Clicked on the link and it updated my apps loader, followed by offering me a choice of 5 OS.. 3 of them were downgrades, my current .199 and preferred 4.1.6.206.
I updated the preferred and just rechecked the update manager and my old .199 is referred to as a downgrade now!!!
PM me your email and i'll email you the email from Blackberry that should open up the link for you
I've opened up the link, which just directed me to "www.blackberry.com/updates". Doesn't made sense
Then it asks for my PIN for which they happily answered,, was not supported...
@L3e: Maybe you could give us a solid link to the download site.
Thx.
UPDATE: oh wait....there's something at the bottom....
First thing i notice is;
My Today screen opened with no issues or delay, my icons for downloads, set up etc ALL have colour again bar Saved Messages. I also have the return of the Instant Messaging folder !!!
right as i said i have the same email and had to go on blackberry.updates, its detetected my phone and pc softare where but before i can dl it i have to update the app manager which im doing now.... im guess its maybe only if your on orange they will let you dl it?
ill report back after i dl the app man update
Could be Orange UK-specific update. Well, not much to do except to keep digging.
Funny that when you select different Global Locations (where you are) on the blackberry.com website, when you access the Updates page some asks for our PIN, and some don't. I just noticed when I selected North America.
Is it some new way of RIM distributing new OSes to their intended destinations? Just wondering.
