you don't have to phone telus...login to your voicemail, listen to the options and choose the one that says "options" or "setup" or whatever they label it. One of the menu options will be for how many rings before answer.

Now that I'm on my PC I see your from Montreal. No you can not change it. Only in BC and AB that you can change the # of rings before VM

Press *94 on your BB then the number of rings you want. so ie. *946 will set it to ring 6 times.

    That simple.

I just phoned Telus, and they said THIS FEATURE IS NOT AVAILABLE IN BC (where I live). Lame. Alberta is the Province she listed as available. The *946 didn't work either.

Why does Telus make me cry so much?

*EDIT* Well, that rep didn't know what she was talking about...I just read in another thread that in BC you must do *94xx where xx is the number of SECONDS you want your ring to be.
    *cries with joy for once*

I just got off the phone with Telus and the rep there had me dial *945. *94 for the code to change the feature and 5 for the number of rings. Well as it turns out that was the wrong information. Go figure! Telus rep need I say more! Anyway I read the post before mine and tried *94 for the feature change and then 40 for the number of seconds i want it to ring before Voicemail picks up and now my Storm 2 rings 10 times not 4 and it takes exactly 40 seconds before it goes to voicemail.

So in a nutshell *94XX (XX for the number of seconds you would like your phone to ring for before it voicemail picks up) works like a charm on Telus.

I just tried it here in BC, and it works!

I hit *9450 and now it rings for 50 seconds before going to viocemail. My default before that was 20 seconds.

Is there anything you have to do before dialing *94? When I dialed it, I got a reminder to dial 1 for long distance calling and the area code for local calling.

You don't just hit *94, you have to do it all at once, for example hit *9450 SEND.

But note that 50 means 50 seconds. Change the 50 to whatever 2-digit number you want (*9440, *9430, etc. to your liking)

Has anyone had success with this in Ontario? Nothing at all happens when I try this and it definitely has no effect.

Just got off the phone with a Telus rep. I was told that I can NOT change the number of rings or the time that it takes before a call goes to voice mail. I am in Alberta.. This really sucks because I get a vibrate, ring, vibrate, then voice mail. Very frustrating.
