I just plugged my 8900 into my computer and opened up BB Desktop Manager.
It connects fine and then all of a sudden 5 seconds later the screen goes black and restarts.

ive tried now 4 times and it keeps doing it.

    Im running OS 4.6.1.174

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

    THANK YOU!

Looks like you need to downgrade because there was possibly an error when the os was installing... take out your battery, plug it into your computer(the phone will run its power from the usb cord), open up desktop manager and do the process of downgrading it, then when it goes to waiting for initiation part towards the end of the install, then quickly pop in the battery and the phone should turn itself back on while it loads up the downgraded version of the os...

    Thanks everyone for the replies!

I was reading the instructions on this page:
    http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/prop...rade+procedure

and when it says to download and install the new OS .exe file... would i just download .114 and install it?

Also, would i do the procedure stated above where i plug it into the computer with the battery out, or just do it with it in?

    Thanks again!

With the battery out? Not sure what you are talking about there. You definitely need your battery in your phone to update it.

For the OS, just download whatever OS you intend to load onto the device. Remember, especially when downgrading, you need to remove all the other OS versions from your computer before loading the one you want onto your phone.

i looked under add/remove programs and didnt find any OS's on there..
and the reason i was asking about the battery is because the first person that replied said to do it without it, so i was just wandering.

As for removing the previous OS, where would i look for that since when i googled it, it said to go into add/remove programs and i cant find anything in there.

This is all i have in my add/remove programs:

Looks like you are good to go. Take your time and go for it. Remember to follow the procedure and get your backups before you wipe the phone.

Ill just downgrade my OS to .168 hopefully that will work.

    EDIT/
I just tried downgrading it and as soon as it loads up and i go to application loader my blackberry shuts off and restarts.

    EDIT 2/
i just tried it again, this time i plugged it into my computer and it recognized it, showed the PIN in BB Desktop Manager and then i didnt touch anything. Then exactly 9 seconds later it restarted!

Here's the link I think you need. Also, you get a copy of the .114 OS from T-Mo at their website. Good luck!
