Goto mobile.blackberry.com with your phone's browser. There's some free games up there.

Also, Magmic has some of their older black and white games for free as well. You can probably find info on it somewhere on Magmic Games - Play Anywhere

They have a few other games, but I was specifically trying to find a 'normal' solitaire. Not a bad product, they don't have art for the high cards, but it's not that big a deal.

I haven't tried the Odesys.com solitaire game, but have you tried "Aces Solitaire" by Concrete Software. That's the one I play, and it's phenomenally good. The graphics are outstanding, they've got a bunch of different solitaire games and each one can be customized through the settings, and they keep detailed statistics of all your games. Highly recommended.

I'd love to have Sudoku, but I haven't found one that will allow me to see pencil marks...I'm not smart enough to play that without using pencil marks.

Not realistically. Not to say it's not impossible either though. But the games offered from mobile.blackberry.com are OTA installs.
