When I got my Bold, I was amazed that it didn't do that by default.

I have been looking for something like this... or an auto-standby application that will put the clock on after a certain amount of time...

    That would be pretty cool.

Sounds great, but it would eat your battery alive.

True, but other phones often have teh clock display for a few minutes when you lock it, then the LCD switches off. Then when you press a button the clock will light up again.

This would be ideal. i was very disappointed to find it didn't do this by default.

Especially since the clock reminds me of my watch face.

Ok, but when I press any button when the screen is locked, it displays the desktop (which has a clock) for a few minutes.

Indeed. For me it's purely for aesthetic benefit. To be honest, If I want to look at the time, looking at my phone is the most inconvenient method I have available.

Agreed. But it would still be cool to at least have the option to do what the OP said. Not so much all the time, but might be handy in meetings an such.

I wear a watch when out, have the sys tray clock at work and a clock in my lounge at home but I STILL want a blackberry clock

Can't have too many clocks IMO, unless you have chronomentrophobia.

I don't use a holster either but good work around for those who do.

Symbian phones do this by default. In fact, they jus tturn the blacklight off and display the clock 100% of the time (at least on my old E61 and E61i). Without a doubt, the one thing I miss the most moving to BB. Watches are so 1900s.

The only problem with watches is that you look stupid wearing more than one.

    I love watches too much.
