Has anyone heard if Telus/RIM is close to an official release yet? Anyone know what the process is or what the usual time frame is for the new versions to be released?
I've thought of just using one of the Beta versions...but each review of them I read always has some pretty negative trade offs (some moreso then others obviously).
I would seriouslydoubt they are any closser than Verizon. It will happen when it happens. The current betas are pretty good, and definatly a sgep up from the .76 shipping offical version. I have used a few of them, and ifthere was not another release, I would be quite happy to stay with .109 or .99. Both work very well and are stable on my phone.
I was at the ** in Scarborough last week, and some of the people were already running the new OS on their own personal devices. Telus will be releasing 4.7.0.106 as their official build. Apparently some of the Learning Specialists already have it on their demo phones so if you go into a corp store and there's a Learning Specialist, ask to see their Storm and see which OS they have.... When I asked about when they'll put it out, they said in about 2-3 weeks, so stay tuned
.106???? Guess we shall just have to wait and see. With .109 leaked and in the wild, .112 shown with the improved cut and paste, and current betas in the .13X range out for testing, seems .106 would be a step back. But then again, it is up to Telus what they release.
yeah....hopefully it isn't too far off. 109 is good....but there are still some minor issues that i'd think a OFFICIAL version would fix....albeit a lower version then the current beta version.
.114 is a beta leaked os, Install at your own risk. I am not sure it is worth it though from the comments. seems there are a few issues with it. I will wait for a while and see.
I have the full keyboard option while on phone call. I didn't need no workaround.
I have the new cut and paste feature. No workaround needed.
I am capable of deleting messages from handheld and mailbox.
I don't get the fading in and out on phone calls anymore.
Memory leak is still there like .109 etc..
Accelerometer works wicked. Its not slow.
Apps seems to load much faster.
Browsing seems to be quicker.
My battery life is wicked.
I have been using my phone all morning including texting and my battery hasn't even moved.
Haven't noticed any random reboots. Last night before going home with .109 installed i had a random reboot.

I do however know that every leak will run differently on all Storms. However on mine. It works like a charm. Plus anytime I do an OS Update. I always restore my apps.
As usual, sounds like different phones handle the upgrade differently, I just wanted to make sure, since the OP asked about official upgrades, they were aware the .114 version was not "official"
I am probably going to upgrade in within a couple days myself, Just want to wait and see if any significant problems pop up before I go.
Probally not concrete, Telus person here was reluctant to give up info, be he heard it was around May. If Verison releases in April, then I can see it maybe being May. We seem to get things a little later.
