    Hey.

I am considering getting a Blackberry Bold. But before I buy it I would like to know if it's possible to activate ICMP echo reply in the settings. I need the device to accept incoming ping requests in order to constantly keep my wifi connection going (@university).

Does anybody know if wifi can be configured like this?

    Thank you,
    mknabe

    Nothing?

Nobody can take a quick look into the WiFi settings of his/her Bold and answer my question?

It will keep the connection 'alive' but persistent data traffic will have an impact on battery life if the challenge is frequent. You might find it is more effective to allow the connection to drop, and reestablish the link when it is required.
