BGR says ATT might be getting the 8900 in february. yeah yeah i know all about how reliable BGR is.

but they also say that ATT is phasing out 3G devices? whats up with that? i thought they were phasing out their 2G network? anyone?

Sprint is usually a few days ahead. I think verizon is getting it after they get the niagara around summer.

the BGR comment about verizon is about the pearl flip, not the curve II.

well, of course it's not 3G. it's the 8900. but still, EDGE speeds on a curve are not that slow.

i agree. if i had ATT i'd probably just get the curve II, stick a sim card in it and BAM its a way better phone than the bold (which has a crappy camera and crappy att 3g which doesn't work most of the time, at least here in NYC, anyway)

BGR isn't right about a lot of things sometimes, but lately the two big Blackberry stories seem to be right. First, the 9030 Niagara coming to Verizon soon and the 8900 possibly coming to AT&T hence AT&T branded 8900's in the wild.

And yes AT&T is said to be phasing out of 2G phones, not 3G. There was a email sent out to AT&T a couple days ago telling them to sale some 2G models.

Yes, it does have Wi-Fi and GPS, but no 3G. The 3G version of the Javelin hasn't came out....yet...

well, my bb using edge is must faster than my blackjack 2 running 3g. and im usually in a wifi area with where i go. saint louis area is a wifi hot spot itself. haha

From the specs I've seen it does have Wi-Fi.

Most likely. Just different branding and couple less features, that are for T-Mobile.

less features.... like wifi calling, right? because if that's it, im fine with that. I really want something other than an original bb. I want something new coming for att. more memory, processor, etc. would it be better to stick with this, or wait until later for something newer. like a 3g version (i really dont care for) curve, or a touchscreen bb later this year.
