This is not a direct answer to your question, but I have the Blackberry OEM premium leather swivel holster ($99.99 from BB!!! ). The leather is softer than the regular leather swivel holster that BB sells for 49.99, and obviously much nicer than the swivel holster that came with my Bold.

I would assume that they use the same leather for the premium pocket that they do for the premium swivel holster.

I have owned the original that came with my Bold, the 'regular' leather swivel case, and the premium leather swivel case. Not much difference between the premium and the 'regular' except the softness of the leather and the magnet that closes the flap is a little stronger on the premium. However, I like the premium better and am glad I got it.
