This just means he has no clue of what types of things the President responds to and what the disclosure rules are. He will never be without an aid he can tell what he needs.

I don't know where you are getting your news but that's not entirely true.

He's getting to keep it for PERSONAL use for now, temporarily!

Emails would be the least of the security concerns with him holding a personal device...

RIM blew this one. B.O. is not getting a BB. It's a stylus input PDA developed by General Dynamics in the states. Maybe Canada is considered an axis of evil now?? LOL

I think RIM missed this one. I mean, a BB Stealth would have been cool to clone. Oh well, I just hope B.O. gets used to using a stylus!

We can only Hope V.P. Joe Biden uses bag phone :-)

This is what they were going to get for him, according to CNN: Product Details - Sectéra® Edge„ SME PED - Overview

But enGadget reports that he can keep his BB: Confirmed: Obama gets his BlackBerry, no Sectera Edge in sight - Engadget

EDIT: WSJ confirms enGadget's story: Article - WSJ.com

RIM should be all over this to enhance their image as the choice of the President of the USA.

The "Hot Line" is actually a teletype, vintage early '60's.

Communications has come a long way, it is now possible for President Obama and Russian Prime Minister Putin to be PIN buddies.

what kind of bb does obama have??
The one he fumbled on the airport tarmak was a 8700, tough enough to take it.

I suspect it is part of the Democratic Party BES communications system. If that is the case, he can get an unlisted number and BIS for personal use, no problem.

    It's Windows Mobile.

Good thing it's only for personal use. On the plus side, it is ruggedized, it can handle being tossed on the tarmak.
