My Desktop Manager is not working at all. Everytime I plug my BB into my computer and try to use the Media Manager I get a long line of DAO error messages that eventually leaves the Roxio Media introductory screen frozen on my computer. All I want to do is load BB Weather on my BB, but this is turning into a impossible task. Is there another way to do this w/o using pos bb desktop ?

If you have a data plan just go to http://blackberrytools.sourceforge.net/OverTheAir/bbweather-0.74/BBWeather.jad on your BB's browser.

that link works... I just tried it, it is working.

    http://blackberrytools.sourceforge.n.../BBWeather.jad

FROM your BB browser. Copy the above and email it to yourself so you don't have to retype it.

Does BBweather work on the curve? I tried installing it twice, and it does not work. Say error loading profiles, then freezes up the blackberry.

The 'OverTheAir' part is case sensitive, I think. Cut and paste the link as John Clark wrote it into an email to yourself, then click on the link.

I tried both links and downloaded both and still getting error loading profiles, then it freezes up the blackberry. I don't want to mess with it anymore so what I was hoping was if some kind soul can help explain how to delete this app.

Follow these steps EXACTLY and your device shouldn't lock up:

1 - Click on the new BBWeather icon.

2 - Since no locations are set up yet, you'll receive an error that there are no profiles set up, just click OK with the trackball.

3 - Press the trackball (NOT the Menu button) and click Options.

4 - Press the Menu key and click Add.

5 - For all US locations, use the zip code for the Location. Use this for zip codes you don't know, or for non-US zip codes:

ASP.NET Resources - Determine location ID for the weather server control

6 - Enter a description name (i.e., LA, Orlando, New York).

7 - You can keep the Forecast Days at 5, or increase it up to 10 days.

8 - If you would like the temp displayed in Fahrenheit, leave the Units as 'Standard'. For Celsius, change it to 'Metric'.

9 - Click OK to save.

Press the Menu button and Close/Save to back out.

The key to the steps above are two clicks of the trackball without pressing any other buttons.

If you are NOT on a BES system, place a checkmark at BBWeather > Options > Disable MDS Proxy.

Absolutely - I have several cities set up. Just follow steps 4-9 from my steps above to add additional cities.

Oh heck yea, that is the best thing about BBWeather.

Open BBW > Options > at top it says Current Profiles > click Menu > ADD.

Then, whenever you open BBW, Just click the trackball and your other city profiles are listed at the top in alpha order

I have a Curve 8310 and I am having trouble too. This would be a good topic to have in the tutorials section don't you think? I don't know about anyone else, but I honestly need a step by step from the very beginning. I am having trouble just getting the file from the BB browser. Anything we can do guys?
