Well I should have taken my own advice this morning and stuck with .75. I decided to give .85 a try and now my phone is stuck on the media card inserted screen followed by the verizon logo. If I pull the battery 10 times it will boot but then anytime I shut off my phone and turn it back on its stuck again. If I do a full wipe can I just install .85 again without a problem or is there a better way to do it? I have my .75 backup on my PC still.
Should be able to. I goofed up an attempt on .83 on accident, and just redid it and used my previous back up data and it went fine. Didn't have any problems with .85.

Yes you can just wipe and install .85. But if you want, you can do .75. You don't need to install .75 before loading .85.

I didn't do a battery pull without the card inserted.
I am new to wiping the phone so of course I am nervous to do it. Just to be 100% clear all i do is wipe the phone, hook up to desktop manager and install the .85 that I have downloaded?
Since .75 I have the issue when i receive mms. They skip after just 3 or 4 second like it restarts. If you replay it or send to some one else no issues. I thought that .85 would fix this. Next step would be to do a clean OS installation.
downloaded 85 to pc, installed it, ran it, turned off internet, and although it is shown on my desktop, I dont yet see it avail on DM- any help? thanks
It only happened to me once right after the OS was installed and I wiped.
Hopefully it wont happen again.
Do a soft reset or battery pull and see if it comes back. I had to do 5 battery pulls before my phone would boot normally and then any time I turned the phone off, or pulled the battery the problem came back.
Okay, I have been lurking for awhile and I just had this exact problem. On the first load after the install it worked fined and then froze up then it stayed on the media/verizon deal after about 5 battery pulls. After I pulled the media card and then battery pull, as of now its working fine.
I have been getting an error when trying to do a back up and it seems like DM is unstable on 4.7 because im constantly having issues and it seems everyone is having some sort of issue just some know what to do to get around it. With that said I havent wiped once and have had all the leaked and release version except .76 I started using the upgrade on Blackberrys website and it works flawless and seems to keep all my info no need to reload. Anyone having a problem I suggest giving this a try!
PS I also havent removed any vendor files while using the site and works fine!
I also just experienced this problem for the first time. I loaded .85 this morning and up until now haven't had this issue with .65, .75, or .83.
The Storm just randomly decided to shut down on me a little while ago. When I restarted it the screen was stuck on the Verizon Wireless screen as described by others. So I pulled the battery:
Battery Pull 1: Same problem
Battery Pull 2: Same problem
Got online at this point checked good ol' Crackberry.com forums and someone advised pulling the media card prior to reinserting the battery. So I took it out:
Battery Pulls 3&4: Stuck on "Media Card Removed" message. Pressing buttons caused the Verizon Wireless screen to reappear and stay stuck.
Battery Pull 5: Restarted with the Media Card inserted and everything was fine.
I'm leaving .85 on here but if I see the problem again I'll downgrade back to .83.
*Edit* Looks like I spoke too soon. The problem is still occurring so I'm downgrading back to .83.
I have stuck to .75 and love it. If it aint broke don't fix it! I am sticking to official releases. I don't have the patience anymore to deal with all that

You guys might want to give this a shot before you revert back to your old firmware. It didn't work for me but it looks like it did for some others so it may be worth a try.
