    Hello Everyone,

I have a problem with my new blackberry curve 8330. I got this phone from Bell about a week ago. Here is the problem:

When I am on the mobile browser and the page is loading or requesting my calls will not come through, it will send the caller to my voice mail. The phone will not even ring. This problem also happens if I am using MSN and chatting and when I am chatting on Blackberry messenger. It seems to be only doing this when the phone is requesting a page or loading a page. Is this normal or should the phone ring no matter what and not send it to my voice mail. Does anyone know or if this is normal. Please advise me ASAP. Thanks so much

I actually think it is normal or maybe it was just us two that were having the issue.

It only stopped when I got the bold since their 3g works off both channels.

I had the 8330 on Sprint and every time the page was loaded, I would receive it, but if it was requesting, it seemed like I never got a call.

I don't think its normal. I have an 8320 and it never does what you described.

Not sure if this is normal or not as I have a few friends with the same phone as me and they can still get calls when the page is loading. I am not sure what to do or if it is normal

If I still had a Blackberry on CDMA, I would test it out....

    Welcome to CB!

I have an 8330 on Sprint (CDMA).

I just ran several tests on my device while loading web sites. In each test, the incoming call took priority (phone rang, incoming call screen appeared), I ignored the call, and the web page resumed.

Are you using the newest OS (4.5) on your device?

Try a battery pull (device reset). It's possible the issue is related to a low memory condition.

I just tested this about 5 times like Joe003 did and all 5 calls came through while a page was being requested, I answered the calls and when I ended the calls my BB was back on the browser screen with the page loaded.

    Sprint 8330 running 4.5.0.89

EVDO is supposed to suspend the data connection and allow the call to come through and then resume the data connection once the call ends. Work fine on my Windows Mobile devices in the past. Never had a BlackBerry while I was with Verizon.

On my phone is says 1X on the screen, not EVDO. Maybe it is service in my area doing this and not the phone. What do you all think?

If your connecting to 1xRTT, than that wouldn't normally interrupt the data connection. Verizon had made some improvements there before I switch carriers, so I know it is possible to fix but it's on the carrier side not the device side.
