I was reading on TmoNews.com that the HTC Shadow II will be released on 28 January 2009. I know this phone is not really a competitor of the 8900, let alone the Blackberry Brand, but won't this release date affect the release of the 8900?
I know that wireless companies do not like to release phones within a short time period of each other.
Maybe this is good news, and the 8900 will be released on T-Mobile in very early January??
Or mid-January... Personally, I don't think it will matter even if they are both released on the same day... I don't think there is going to be a lot of fanfare when they do release the 8900 on AT&T or T-Mobile.
If I remember correctly, the G1 and the Flip came out basically within the same month. Correct me if I'm wrong. But if it did happened like that, what's to stop them from releasing the HTC and the 8900 in the same month?

I believe they did come out in the same month... Pearl Flip - Oct 13th... G1 - Oct 22nd... so yes, I just found these dates on TMONews.com.
I'm not saying they wont release it, I was agreeing they wont tout it as much as they normally would, that's all. I think they passed on the Bold to not compete with the G1 since that is a 3G phone.
IMO
I hope this rumored Late January release date is not like the Dec 15th hoopla that circulated around the 8900 forums... C'mon T-Mo...show us some Berry Love..

Correction- "Couldn't get the Bold", it lacks T-Mobiles 1700MHz 3G band
Ouch, didn't know T-mo passed on the Bold.....that was pretty dumb of them!
Hoping they won't gouge for the Curve 8900 but I am guessing they will (ala $149 for the Pearl Flip). Would it hurt them to be nice and be like their German or UK counterparts (I.e. Cheap or free)??
