I haven't has a BlackBerry since I had RIM's first few models. My first one looked like a pager. Anyway, I just got a Storm and have encountered some problems that make me anxious for a new version of the system software. I am running .75 on a Verizon phone that is unlocked and working on the Rogers network in Canada.

I noticed that Bell has an improved version of the software, numbered .76. When I got the phone, I upgraded it to .75 off of RIM's global site. I used the DM program and it found the upgrade so I installed it. Now, the DM manager shows that there is no newer upgrade available.

My question is this: should I just wait for the DM program to find another upgrade, or should I chase around the Internet locating newer versions like Bell's and install them? Oh, and another question: Does DM find the latest Verizon system because it knows it is a Verizon phone, or does it find generic upgrades that apply to all Storms regardless of the carrier?

    Thank you.
