Same issue, even after following their workaround. Can this company do anything right...

I wish they provided a December autoloader. Though I don't count on that.

In the unlikely event anyone here gets this installed soon it should be AAR941.

    What a mess!!
I received the 'Update Available', I tried to update and received the "Waiting for WiFi' error message, I followed the instructions as indicated, received the 'Update Available' notification again, the system then gives me the 'Downloading' message which then leads to a 'Verification Failed' error message.
And I'm now stuck in a loop, it keeps downloading the software, shows a 'Verifying' message for a second, and immediately comes up with the 'Verification failed' error message.
    A mess!

Don't know, but why should we be looking for a workaround around a workaround for a normal security patch update?!

Thurask can you give some insight as to why that waiting for WiFi bug exists in Google Play?

They clearly have no idea what they are doing if they can't get a small patch to play nice with the OS. Another reason why they should update the OS instead of having us downgrade a major Android service for a simple patch.

BTW you DO NOT need to go into Apps and remove the Google Play Services update. Just shut WiFi off and tell the updater to go ahead and pull the update over mobile data. Yes, it's 60Mb, but that's not all that big of a deal -- and it works.

HOWEVER, that doesn't fix the "verification failure" problem as it appears the update package itself is defective (fails signature check.) The good explanation is that they screwed up when they signed. The BAD one is that it was tampered with (in which case be glad it didn't apply as it probably would have bricked the phone on restart!)

TCL probably tried to put some spyware in there after getting the patch from BlackBerry lol.

Since I got the last update near end of November, I don't expect anything until the last days of December.

My Dtek50 tells me there is an update available for download, but, having read the posts on here, don't think I will be downloading it right now, as can't afford to have the phone u/s because BBMo/TCL couldnt give a flying f**t about what happens to the Dteks anyway, (in fact if the were to 'accidently brick' them, we would all have to buy Keyone's or motions, wouldn't we now, how very convenient!!) Win/win for BBMo/TCL ??
