What actual functionality do you lose by using the BB10 version instead of the Android version? I currently have all functionality — sending video and images working —, apart from the fact that it's slower, video calls are sketchy and you have to tap the text field to have the keyboard fully-enabled.

I don't see much of an impact on battery life, unlike other Android apps, even while using WhatsApp Web.

You'll lose video chat, replies and quotes, the newer Status feature, and I believe two factor authentication.

Yes the main reason for stopping support was so that they can upgrade their software for OS like Android and iOS
However they didn't delay their upgrade and also allowing it's usage for BlackBerry devices seems to indicate that they won't expire their support hopefully!
I am not much into apps, but heavily rely on whatsapp to stay in touch with friends and family, so device without it will straightway force me to switch to other device which I don't wish to.

Well, they were already upgrading Android and iOS versions of the app without upgrading the others a long time ago.... so that's not the reason they extended
