Hi thinking of switching back to Blackberry as my daily phone (still have my 9000) Currently I am using Win8.1 and win10 phones for my daily use.
3 of my must haves are QQ WeChat and maps (offline preferably) that work in China, was thinking to get a Passport or a Classic.
What is supported on the current OS?

WeChat works alright, just don't uninstall it once you get it installed. You're also going to miss some features like GIFS, videos, files, DD车 and locations.

A way to fix this may be to side load the android version (I'm using the BlackBerry world version)

I've never tried QQ on BlackBerry. It is on BlackBerry World, but has horrendous reviews. Either way, my QQ number is connected with my WeChat ID.

For maps here I use Maps.ME which does support offline mode, just don't expect it to be helpful when finding specific places. BlackBerry Maps doesn't even have China available.

Just realized you're also on the 9000. On my 9900, WeChat works great, but you're missing the same features that BB10 are missing. QQ also has the same issues on BBOS7s World.

There are a bunch of apps for maps on the 9900, but I used Baidu's Web based maps which was pretty slow. BlackBerry Maps OS7 has the same issue as BB10, where China doesn't exist.
