How well received was the z30 by the public. Was is as popular as q10 and z10 or was it a flop...a disaster.

A disaster but part of the problem was its release roughly coincided with BlackBerry putting itself up for sale.
All BB10 devices failed in the market.

In my opinion it is the device BB10 should have been launched with. They went in half cocked OS and hardware wise. If they had launched Z30 running 10.2 people would have listened.

IMO things would have been better but the ecosystem was still missing and that would be an insurmountable obstacle.

My Z30 was solid and even after many drops was still rigid. never flopped before.

Yes but the rest of us are talking about sales.

The Z10 and Q10 were the biggest flops BlackBerry ever had - before or since.

Subsequent BB10 devices had more reasonable production runs.

If it had been released with 10.2.1 it would have had fewer returns than the Zed suffered ... however by 2013 the public had already decided what smartphone they wanted.

I liked my Z30. Z10/Q10 were weak from day 1 in retospect. Classic was the logical QWERTY for the initial followed by the Passport. My opinion.

Z30 was an awesome device! The bigger screen and battery life compared to the Z10. They should've launched both at the same time. But they were assuming they could launch a few devices throughout the year back then. Upgrade cycles and all that.

Yes they should've done the impossible but it was impossible so they didn't.

I think they would've been able to do so, seeing how many Z10's were produced. If they had split this between the Z's, it could've been possible I think. But they had roadmap plans, releasing a few devices throughout the year. But by the time the Z30 came to market, the elephant had already entered the room.

Are you saying delay the release of both devices at least 2 quarters until the Z30 was ready?
Cause the investors would have not liked that at all.

I don't think you get what I say. The only reason I can think of why the Z30 came out later was because they planned it that way, not because they couldn't get it done sooner. Unless you know something I don't.

I think it didn't come out until later because it wasn't ready.
They were going at emergency warp speed to get the z10 out.
I didn't think you meant that they could release both in early 2013 because its seems ridiculous.

I don't think it's that ridiculous of an idea. They just went all out with the Z10. They were trying to get BlackBerry 10 ready, that's why they were rushing.

Actually if the Z30 was ready at the same time as the Z10 they should have just not have produced or released the Z10.

Even the Q10 couldn't get out until months later. They were operating as fast as possible.

Yeah, but they had a roadmap. It was a conscious decision, thinking they were going to sell millions of devices and launch new ones throughout the year. It just didn't pan out the way it was envisioned.

Believe me, the Q10 was NOT intentionally staggered. They were desperate to get that out the door.

I think that had to do with making the OS work with the keyboard. They built BlackBerry 10 as a full touch screen OS. Look at how many features were still missing at Q10 launch.

The app ecosystem would have been a lot better if people actually bought the phones.
