It is doubtful that Blackberry will ever approach the carriers with this device.

I don't think there is a BlackBerry that Rogers hasn't had. My 2 year contract is up today and I won't be able to keep my $60 monthly plan if I subsidize a new phone. Ideally I'd love to go with the upfront plan for DTEK60 and use my cashback from my Rogers Mastercard to pay for it. I'm torn because I really want the Mercury but who knows if we'll see it and if so the specs don't sound great.

I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing the Mercury. If a licenced pkb device happens to come out and happens to support our region, then you can sell your DTEK60 at the time.

I hope so as I hope you at least feel the device and see what it feels like.

Just purchased a DTEK60 from Blackberryshop.ca. Was reading the user guide and wanted to activate the wifi calling and VoLTE. Those options are not presented in my version of Android 6.0.1. So I called Rogers technical support. They were not able to add my IMEI in their system. The IMEI was rejected. Exchange some emails with them and with BlackBerry technical support and both confirms me that the DTEK60 is not supported by Rogers and don't know if it will. BAD NEWS ! No I am not sure I am getting the full LTE speed.

It would seem you are, in fact, correct. I think it's great news.

We all want the same thing here. The Pkb BlackBerry will be a beast of a phone! People will be excited about it.

I am a Rogers agent and the Dtek60 was released in Canada on Nov 12th. I looked through everything because I want this device. We are not caring the phone via retail or call centre. Unless they update the device list later, it doesn't appear to be happening.

Hi Empress85 - Thanks for letting us know. That is really disappointing. I bought one directly but it would seem like Rogers should be selling this phone.

THey decided to stop carrying BB devices after the Dtek 50.

Ive been a RW customer for a long time and I remember once upon a time that RW use to be the first to carry any BB device. They got the 1st launch always. And was always the first company to introduce upcoming new BB devices.
i guess those days are long gone.
