That's is not the answer for the question.

Technically you can't retrieve it. If you want to enjoy that kind of perk you should use BBM

On old cell phone like Nokia it was possible because you phone had a "sent" box and you can see the queue in it and cancel any sms that you liked.

I saw an app that delays sending for this very reason. I don't remember the name but it delayed sending for a couple minutes or so to allow you time to change your mind about sending.

You could try something like *L 2# testtesttest if you want it to be sent two hours later, if your network supports it.

Most networks don't support those vertical service codes. In fact I haven't seen that code anywhere else before, and doubt it even exists.

Before it is delivered, can't you just shut off the mobile services until it fails?

Switch off the phone. Turn on the airplane mode. Then keep it for 15 mins.
