Is there gonna be Whatsapp in BlackBerry Classic after this year? Or are they just stopping the update for Whatsapp?

No more updates and the app will eventually stop working.

No native app and the Android port could stop working at any moment.

I'm using the android version. All you have to do is sideload the Waa Fixer bar file on your computer and sideload it. It's works just like the one on my BlackBerry Priv or DTEK50. Here's a picture of it sending on the Passport and the BSR file you need. I figured it out tonight.

Probably the worst business decision by whatsapp to 'kill/end support' on the BBOS7/10 Platform.

I understand why they did it, but it sucks.

In the grand scheme of things, no one knows for sure if the app is going to stop working or just not going to be updated. Facebook was supposed to stop working on BlackBerry earlier this year but it's still chugging along nicely.

who's at fault here? the devs or blackberry ?

If Blackberry got a few contracts out ? tell whatsapp facebook twitter etc to keep dev on the BBOS platforms? (i know twitter is still going strong on BBOS7/10

Is it a money issue? do we really know the true reasons behind this 'lets pull the plug'

Damn shame all this... there isn't even an instagram app on BBOS7/10 (maybe 3rd party ones but still)

    Of course it is.

The revenue and/or potential revenue that the BB10 userbase represents is not enough to justify the cost of continuing to support a BB10 app.

When is it ever NOT a money issue?

They are a business. It's ALWAYS a money issue.

If they actually made a noticeable profit off BBOS7/BB10, they certainly wouldn't be ending support. Plain and simple.

While that's no doubt a huge part, the other part is the fact that there has been no updates to the BlackBerry Dev tools and as such, WhatsApp can't do what they want to do on BlackBerry 10. The BlackBerry 10 app COULD live on, but it would lack features of all the other versions.
