The native BB10 browser is getting a tad old and really in need of an update. In the meantime, I have found an AMAZING replacement browser that looks and feels almost EXACTLY like the native browser! Best of all, it works perfectly on BB10

EDIT: Scrolling with keyboard on Passport works perfectly. Even better scrolling than on native browser as horizontal scrolling is also supported!

This browser is currently in super secret BETA. As a member of the beta group, I have an APK file that I can share with you! The browser is from a long time browser maker with over 100 million users world wide. IMO, they make the best desktop browsers that you have never heard of. Ready for the big reveal?

    It's MAXTHON!

Looks nice, but wouldn't it being a Android App "APK" be sluggish do to the Runtime?

Scanning QR codes, wow! Like we don't have that by default already... Oh wait, we do, it's called Smart Tags (default app).

And there's also the aforementioned privacy concerns. And why the hell an APK? Native is always better. A better replacement for the default browser is Browsie Browser from BlackBerry World.

Edit: and what's the issue the OP's having with horizontal scrolling in the default BB10 browser? Works fine for me on my Passport.

I find the best browser to be the native browser. You could add the Adblock if you are feeling fancy.

Browsie browser is nice, but a bit sluggish compared to the native one but the features are promising. I just hope the developer keeps it updated.

Used that app and it was great. But I now have many, many gigs of mobile data a month so I'm on 4G all the time. It doesn't work over 4G, unfortunately. But if you're on WiFi, I definitely recommend it! :-)

The problem with 3rd party browsers.. is how safe are they? What are they built on? Are they actively being developed or seeing the same security patches that other browsers are getting?

Some of the biggest security issues that BBOS has now are vulnerabilities in the browser.

Chrome or Firefox might be a little slower, but I "think" you could trust those developers more than some of the others out there.

Go with Polarity instead. Feels like a minimalist Google Chrome. Great dev support, built in ad-blocking, read mode + text reflow, data saving mode, no (to my knowledge) sending of data to China, and best of all (due to lightweightness) runs well on the BB10 ART.

Browsie Browser is supported. It had a few updates this year and last year as well and the dev answers support questions. So definitely trustable.

I cant say a bad word about Browsie! Pages render much better when websites are identifying the browser as being Android!

I use Annapurna as my browser from blackberry world. It is native and just works for me, don't ask me how I stumbled upon it or even more what the name means but it is there and it works, very genius in the way it works I think!..

Love It.. set to my default.

If you want me to test something in particular I will, it has its own custom strings for Apple, Windows, Blackberry, set to apples string for safari I believe. I have to check if can one can add our own custom strings (mines how it was downloaded when I sign into google it says new sign in from Safari) may have also been an option. The entire thing drops down from the top for menu it's slick and fast. Again, if anything you want me to test, I will. I surf Daily with it.

It's worth the money, if I remember correctly the DEV had a few others for half the price that I also own to keep the same browser (since I liked it) with different strings however I only speak for the gold icon version which was $1:99 as that is what I use everyday without an issue.
