I have a 9810 and have noticed that application memory gets smaller by 0.1 - 0.3 MB after every reboot. Its the 'other' portion of application memory that seems to grow constantly. Does anyone know how to reduce the size of the 'other' portion of application memory? I would also like to know what is stored there?

    Thanks in advance.

Apps gather data as they're being used. Just like a computer, the more apps you install and the more you do with those apps, the more space they take up. They all create a cache so you have faster access to the data from them, load images faster, etc etc. You can reduce the sizes by deleting apps you don't use often, clearing out their caches. You also have to consider that BlackBerry OS apps were pretty well known to have a lot of memory leaks and as such, they gobble up space for seemingly no real reason. It was a balancing act with apps on BlackBerry OS.

I used an app from bbw that rebooted my phone on a schedule. 3 times a week at 4am.

    Thanks for the replies.

I use the same app, except I schedule a reboot once a week on a Monday at 3am. That's how I started to notice the slight decrease in application memory after each reboot. Bla1ze seems to know what the cause is, it's just a pity apps don't clear up after themselves preserving precious memory space.
