Nope.

If you want Whatsapp for both the short term and long term, ditch the Bold and get an iOS/Android phone.

By the end of the year, BB10 won't support WhatsApp either - at least not officially.

You do need to update your 9700... but that kind of update can't be downloaded.

I agree with the two other posters, if whatsapp is a main app in your daily life i would suggest upgrading to an android or iOS device, or you could wait until the android run blackberry's are unveiled in the next months and then decide what to do. If you want a quick fix you could try the Bold 9790 they are cheaper than the 9900 and have the same form factor as the 97xx series. There is still six months of good blackberry OS use left before whatsapp gets the support ended so if you still want to enjoy it you could try and find a cheap blackberry that runs OS7 (the Torch 9810 runs OS7 too)
