I recently discovered the Passport, and I am one step from buying it. There is an offer and I would get it at a good price. However, I dont know if I should buy it since Blackberry announced that they were dropping BB10. Is it a good idea to purchase a product not more supported by its own creator? I mean, will I have any security issues, (no more updates)? I also read Facebook and Whatsapp will drop support on Blackberry OS this year. How could I replace both of them? (especially whatsapp). Thank you for your time.

Well they never said that they will drop support for BB10. But it's true that whatsapp will stop working after 31-12-2016. But you could use BBM instead and there are some pretty great facebook apps available (3th party). So it depends on your needs I guess.. don't expect a vibrant app ecosystem, but the OS is great!
