    Not sure if it's the extended battery I'm using or not but. I sometimes have to press the power button about three times before it goes on.

    Have you tried running BlackBerry Virtual Expert? Not sure if it has a test for the power button tho..

    Take out the extended battery and run the stock battery for a while. If the power button works, you have your answer.
