I just picked up a barely used, immaculate, unlocked Z30 for $130. My Z10 works perfectly, but my suspicion is Chen is going to kill off new BB10 handsets and I wanted to have a backup for when my Z10 dies. I figured $130 was a good investment that should let me continue using BB10 devices for at least another 8-10 years. BB devices have always been near indestructible; so, I expect the Z10 to give me quite a few more years of service before pulling the Z30 out of the box. I'll keep the battery charged so I don't have any issues while it sits in cryo-storage waiting to be reanimated.

Ran a Samsung i500 flip Palm OS phone for 8 years. Been running the Z10 since day 1 and it is still pristine. No reason that I can't run it for several more years and then do the same on the Z30. I'm not someone that kicks my phone across the asphalt on a daily basis so my stuff keeps working. Still drive a 1991 car too.

I intend to keep the z30 for 2 years, also depending on how the wife's z10 last.

And that is a nice life span. After that we'll see. Perhaps the Priv will be reasonably priced...

You should switch it up and use the Z30 as your daily driver and put the Z10 back in its box as a backup. The Z30 is an all around better device with exception of the difference in size, which boils down to personal preference.

The Z30 is more powerful spec wise, has a higher capacity battery and is much louder then the Z10 speaker wise. I personally even prefer the Z30 amoled display over the Z10's LCD due in part to how color reproduction is handled by the Z30 display.

    Look! It's Zedzilla30!
