Gold stood out when I put it on the table at my cafeI had a black 9780 and I bought a white housing, but I've switched it to a combination of black and purple (I also have a purple one). I'm not a fan of the gold one, but I'd take a silver option.

I found purple, red, white, black and yellow cases from an ebay vendor for 4$ with free shipping I could share the link in a pm if you're interested. I haven't bought from them, only from the UK (white, black and purple) but the prices were higher, around 15$ with shipping.

Taking appart the 9780 was pretty easy so I doubt the 9900 would be much different.
my 9780 was originally white and its back to that now.

I'm going to buy a white 9900 when I have some money to throw away because I want to have a BlackBerry collection. So far, I have 5 devices, but by summer time the number will rise to 7 as I will be adding a white 9780 and a black Classic.
I also saw the gold housing on ebay but it looks less appealing than the 9780 version, more a light brown than actual gold. I would replace the silver frame with a gold one, though, and keep the black rear and front fascias. I will post some photos in the coming days with what I have

The gold one I have is no exception. Plastic is a bit thin and the gold flake peeled from the back cover a bit but it looked ok.I ordered a new black housing and it should arrive next week. The white around the screen didnt look as good with the gold, but if it was a Black 9780 originally there is that border in black around the screen and it might have been cooler

I also had a full purple one, but I don't have any pictures of it and now I have it in a combination of black and purple. I also bought a roll of purple carbon fibre vinyl and I did some experiments with it.
I also have 2 Curve 8520s, both originally black, but I bought 2 blue cases for them. They look amazing in sunlight

I was thinking about opening a thread for my own modifications to the 9780 I bought a white housing (again) but this time, it came with a white middle plate (usually the housings would come with an ugly cheap looking gray one) and I replaced the original black one.
When my battery arrives, I'll take some photos and I'll look in my computer for older ones. I ordered a white housing and the keyboard was shot, but I got a partial refund, so no drama And I don't order every day, maybe 2-3 times a year because I get too bored and I like to tinker with phones even if they don't need it.
The Chinese made parts are hit and miss, but for that price, really... A genuine housing costs 3/4 the price of a used 9780 so I would rather buy a beat up device and restore it than pay three quarters of the price for a cosmetic upgrade that has the word "genuine" attached to it. Anyway, I have a lot of BlackBerry parts and even if one item is broken, I can easily swap it with another04-20-16 03:45 AM - I saw that trick on YouTube, but never did it myself. I already posted most of what I have, the only one left to showcase is my white/black 9780, which has gone through 4 different stages of customization.
I don't know if I said it, but I bought a new trackpad for it. I would have liked to get my hands on an OS7 trackpad to put it inside (so it would light up) but the connectors are different, so I settled for a standard one.
When I have sufficient funds to splurge on nonsense, I'll buy parts in bulk so I'll have my stash of "dope" Another thing that I may do is buy a joblot of 9900s. I know it's idiotic, but the idea of having a box of them seems attractive I may also need a head check!
