    "abandoned"?
    "idled"?

we came up with 'spark', we can come up with a better and more accurate term than "dead" and less misleading than "supported", can't we?

The most accurate would be what Microsoft calls "Extended Support" which means patch fixes. For example, Windows 7 Professional :

    -Release Date: 10/2009
    -Mainstream Support End Date: 1/15
    -Extended Support End Date: 1/20
-Service Pack Support: 24 months from release
    (No new Service Packs expected)

It would be helpful if BlackBerry would publish this kind of schedule for BB10.

That would be nice. Unfortunately they stopped all decent roadmaps and public communication once Chen settled into his throne.

Yes, though I think I'm more generous than you about the CEO, who IMO has done an amazing job of stabilizing a company that was headed for Bankruptcy quickly. Blackberry has clear communicated that they will let the market determine their time line for supporting BB10. If BlackBerry on Android wins over governments and Enterprise clients, they will wind down BB10 support accordingly.

But if that's the case, they haven't been looking in the CrackBerry forums cause I see a lot of people chanting to keep BB10. I did read an article last week that BlackBerry had 4 devices dropping. So far they let the Priv out. There is a Venice rendering lurking around. I have a gut feeling the other 2 devices (if true) will be BB10. Two Android and Two BB10 and then they will let the people talk by sales. I dunno. Hopefully we do see more BB10 devices.

What you read on Crackberry is user opinions and rumors. John Chen's public statements are probably more indicative of BlackBerry's actual plans.
