My personal phone is a lovely passport, but at work we have nokia lumia. Whilst I dont mind Windows the phone cannot deal with more than one thing at a time. So work sim in the old z10 and happy days! Wish I'd done it sooner!

I have always thought the Z10 was one of BlackBerry's best phones. I've been rocking mine since release. With 10.3, the MPJ extended battery and a nice quality screen protectors it is a solid phone that still runs smooth as butter in 2015.

    Z10/Q10, 10.3.2.556, MPJ 5000 mAh extended battery.

The dismal battery life of the Z10 is making me wonder if I can live with the broken volume button on the Z30 which has amazing battery life.

Mine is still going but it's gotten laggy with the last few updates.

Unfortunately for me I'm switching to iPhone as BlackBerry has gone android and I don't want to go down that road again.

But only after this really does die.

I just fired up my Z10 after 9 months on a Windows HTC M8.

    I don't know why I ever left my Z10.

Interesting, I was thinking about the new Lumia phones, 950. I'm not interested in the Android BlackBerry

Maybe time for a fresh factory reset of the Z30 and a clean start using the latest OS from Link?

I did try a security wipe. No luck. It's just the volume down button, so I'm guessing it is because of wear and tear or perhaps from a drop.

Possibly time to search out how to replace those buttons? I'd bet there is a DIY factory tear down video on YouTube or on iFixit on how to disassemble the phone. You can then decide for yourself if purchasing replacement parts from eBay is worth it to you or not. I have done screen replacement (fully cracked and non-working digitizer) on my Z10 and it was super easy. I also replaced the metal case bezel on the phone making it look new again. Took about 20-25 minutes and 8/10 repair score (10/10 being monkey simple). I don't own a Z30 but I can imagine it would be fairly easy to take apart and swap out the button unit. You just need the right tools (most likely small torx screwdrivers and case opening tools - do research on this first). Go to YouTube and see if anyone has a video on dissasembly.
