I have been in the situation of getting stuck doing a security wipe for a long time.

These are the steps I use to follow and got perfect results

Step one...
Kill all BlackBerry running processes in Task manager in Windows.

Step two...
Take Out the battery of your Z10, (if stuck doing security wipe).

Step three...
Connect your Z10 via USB without the battery, to the Computer

Step four...
Run the autoloader of your preference.

Step five...
When you see. "Waiting for device" place the battery in the phone.

This will detect your phone and install the new OS.

This is what I did all the time, and never got stuck again...

Using a non-removal battery, when I noticed it was stuck on 98%, I just held the lock button until it restarted then it went from 0-100 in just about half an hour.
