Could a new IT Security Policy be disabling my modem? (Work Blackberry)
How can I tell if the "Disable IP Modem" has been activated for my phone? Will anything show up in the Modem log to indicate this? Thanks!

I have a new BlackBerry Classic. I installed the USB and Modem drivers manually.
A standard modem is installed on COM3. If I delete this modem and try to install the "Standard 33600 bps Modem" as in the directions there is no Modem available on any port (including the RIM virtual modems) to choose to go forward with the install. Yet the RIM virtual modems are in the Device Manager on COM3 and COM4? How do I install the "Standard 33600 bps Modem" without Port or how do I get the RIM Modems to appear as selections when I try to install a new modem.

I have merged your threads, if you have a BlackBerry on BES, you would need to ask the admin on how to use your work berry to be used as a modem.

The threads are on two different issues. One is on connecting to the modem, the other is on installing the modem. I fear others will miss seeing the USB Modem Question if the threads are merged, can you break them back out again?
