    NFC tags-img_20150730_065449.jpg
One of the cool features that the passport have and I am sure it's in other bb10 devices are the NFC feature.
I have two of those tags. One to enable Bluetooth and disable wi-fi and other things off this is when I drive. And the other one is just the opposite turns off Bluetooth and turns on wi-fi, ...etc. The only thing that I don't like the device needs to be unlocked first for NFC tags to work.

This is just a tip for those who don't know it. Cheers

Actually one NFC tag could do what you have listed for two tags if you set it to toggle on/off.

I fooled around with it for a while, but having to unlock the phone makes no real time saver than unlocking and switching off/on via quick settings for my purposes. I still have up a wifi tag for people to quickly log into my home wifi, but so far everyone I've pointed it out to have no idea what NFC is much less to use it.

Wait, you are able to enable/disable Blend? How do you do that. That's not in my smart tags app.

I've always wondered if having to enable NFC 24/7, and the battery loss that entails, is worth the few seconds that are saved with a couple of daily tag taps. Since the phone needs to be unlocked anyway, a couple of extra touches on the quick settings menu doesn't seem difficult.

I used it for a while and I can say that having it enabled all the time had no detectable impact on the battery life on my Classic, but for my uses it saved no time.

I've been enjoying NFC tags for a few years now. I'm surprised my BB Bold 9790 has NFC & this phone is from 2012

If I had read this thread three days ago, I wouldn't have bought those tags from eBay.

I wish BB would add enabling NFC without unlocking devices in the future releases.

Another option would be to use geo location apps, there are a few on BBW. These would automatically do this based on location.

Anyone informed on what other non-BB devices also have NFC? I've wanted to share vcards via NFC but no one on iOS or Android seems to know anything about it.

    What a CLASSIC!

Most android devices have NFC. Samsung renamed NFC as SBeam. Same thing.

Also I think the latest iPhone has NFC for the Apple Pay service.
