Hey everyone,

I've tried multiple times to update my BB10 OS software to the 10.3.2.2168 but when it gets to 90% complete I get the error, "Software Update Encountered an Error". Can anyone help me? Thanks,

Last time that happened to me my download was corrupted. Try downloading the OS again. Delete the current copy. Restart both the computer and the phone. Then run the autoloader. If that fails come back. Someone will have other solutions.

I've tried multiple methods. Over the air, through BB Link and tried to download the update to my computer. over the air and BB Link get me to 90% and the link on the BB website is not found. I'm not even in need of the upgrade except for the fact that I keep getting messages saying the update has cancelled and that I need to free space, even though I have over 80% of the space on my phone free. This happens eveytime there is an OS update.

What you're describing recently happened to me when I used Link to upgrade to 10.3.2 for my Q10 and Q5.

Every time I got an Error message, I just tried again using BlackBerry Link. On the 3rd attempt it went through to completion. This was the same experience for both phones.

And in fact the Error message did say
..... try again.

So perhaps just keep trying using Link.

I am having exactly the same problem, tried to do an update via BlackBerry Link yesterday and now phone will not turn on at all - red flashing light! Software update encountered an error - unspecified error encountered A:0x00000049. What do I need to do? This phone is required urgently as I am an Ambulance First Responder - no phone = no help

Do a "software reload" over BB link softw. In your PC.
Make sure to disable BB protect prior to do the softw reload.

I had this problem with my Passport sometime ago, Contie is right go with the Auto-Loader. Find the right one down load . Save to desktop. Plug in phone and then click on what you saved to un-ZIP. The file will look for the phone and show a DOS screen as it runs. Sit back and the phone will restart on its own.
