Trying to save some texts by sending them to my email . Don't know how to dothis task or if it can be done.

Sms to email apps work well. It gets a little annoying to have multiple messages in the hub but having them in your mail program is very helpful on the desktop or for archiving.

Mark some text, press the share icon and share via the method you want.

I send my texts to my work email all of the time. Very handy.

In the text application menu there is a "copy chat" item. You hit that, and then past to the email. That's pretty good for sending the whole chat. For a single item in the chat you just touch and hold, and a share option pops up like the earlier poster said.
