Z10 100-2 running 680 leak. Did full security wipe then shut off everything in BBM and went into parental controls and disabled BBM there. Have left the phone basically on standby since last charge. Why is this app still drawing power and increasing data when it its disabled and unused.
I don't use BBM so have no need of it running.is there another reason for it continuing.

If I had to take a guess, it's because you're running a beta OS which is essentially designed to send data back to BlackBerry about its operation and you cut off what is a core OS app so it's doing some reporting of that. Aside from the regular reports, BlackBerry also has streaming log reporting enabled on the betas, so unless you explicitly disabled... it's still running.

Disabled log steaming also. Basically shut everything down ie assistant, blend etc to see what used the battery. Took more screen shots this morning before putting on charge and still using battery and increasing memory.

Why do you care so much? Is it affecting your experience some how? BBM is meant to be a core part of the OS.

P.S You can't really complain or question anything if you are using a Beta or Leaked os. Use at your own risk and as Bla1ze mentioned there are parts of the OS that are sending data back to BlackBerry.

If you had read the title it said data and battery use. An app that is supposedly deleted is still using power. 3.3 percent. Only slightly less than pim used in the same period. So yes affects my experience if only slightly. And sorry leak or no leak if something is turned off it should be off.

Oh I read your title. Your battery life looks great (2 days approx.) so that shouldn't be an issue. 7.2mb is a nice little chunk of data but nothing I would be concerned about, Only that it's taking up some mobile data allotment. Probably just some diagnostic transmission which Bla1ze mentioned earlier. You have to understand that a BETA release isn't exactly yours to do with as you please. They are released to gather information and feedback about an OS so I can maybe understand your frustration on an official release. However as I said BBM is a core function of the OS and was never meant to be completely removed or disabled. Most people just disable it under parental settings and forget about it.

Actually battery life is far worse than on 3.2. 500. On 500 I was looking 5-8% overnight 680 is more like 20%.Wife's z10 is still on 3.1. 2576 and shows less than 0.01 percent for power use on BBM. So despite everything shut down blackberry is overriding user settings to collect data
